Festos, Matala &
Komos Beach

The Festos Palace

Among the Ruins
This trip led us to central Crete. There we visited Festos, a minoan palace or better said the excavation place which is just like known as Knossos. In the midst of a labyrinth of ruins and with a little imaginative power one can get an impression of the splendour of the former palace system.
Great Refreshment
Then we went to Matala, a village at the south coast which is surrounded by rock out of tufa with caves hit into it by human hand. Even the Hippies once lived here. For cooling we then enjoyed a bath in the Lybian sea at the remote and fewer well-known Komos Beach.
